James "Jamie" Adam
1954-2021
Tombstone, AZ

James "Jamie" Adam, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2021 after a nearly two-month long battle with Covid-19. He was 67. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his wife, daughter and son and their families, sisters and brothers,' extended family, and countless friends across the world. Jamie spent 50 years of his life in Livermore, CA (Granada '72), 15 in Milton, GA, and the last two in Tombstone, AZ. As a teen, Jamie became an Eagle Scout with the BSA, later joined the US Navy, and worked 45 years in nuclear energy which took him to all over the globe. He was a talented photographer and an avid genealogist, documenting 1000 years of his family's history in "Ancestors of Adam." He loved SCUBA, playing the guitar and singing for a crowd and riding his motorcycle through the Arizona desert. Serious but playful, his laughter was as big as his love for those around him. Hold Fast. A celebration of Jamie's life will be held in Tombstone on June 14th. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the American Legion Tombstone Post 24.

Jamie's employer, NAC International, issued the following statement in tribute to him.

NAC is Saddened by the Passing of Jamie Adam
March 26, 2021

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of one of the members of our senior management team, Jamie Adam. Jamie passed away peacefully on the evening of Friday, March 19, 2021 due to COVID-19 related complications in Tucson, Arizona. He had been a valued member of our team since 2004 when he started at NAC as our Director, Projects. In 2005, Jamie assumed the position of Director, Site and Transportation Services, which later progressed to a Senior Vice President role, where he led the team for over fifteen years. In 2020, Jamie stepped back from his Senior Vice President, Site and Transportation Services role in anticipation of his retirement this year. Jamie left us too early and his big personality will be greatly missed not only at NAC but across the nuclear industry worldwide. Jamie made many remarkable contributions and he was recently recognized in the DOE's Secretary of Energy Achievement Award for his involvement and leadership with a multi-year effort to transport highly enriched uranium spent used fuel from National Research Universal and National Research Experimental reactors at Chalk River Laboratories in Ontario, Canada to DOE's Savannah River Site in the United States. Please keep Jamie's family in your thoughts as they go through this difficult time.
