Death Takes Area Man, 71
SYLVAN BEACH - Moses L. Poppleton, 71, of 12th Avenue, Sylvan Beach, died Saturday in Rome hospital where he had been a patient for the past month. Mr.Poppleton had been in ill health for two years.
Mr. Poppleton was born in Durhamville Oct. 1, 1897, the son of James and Angie Robinson Poppleton and had been a lifelong resident of the Oneida Valley- Sylvan Beach area. He married the former Agnes Moss at Utica in 1919. He was owner and operator of a fish bait supply business in Sylvan Beach. -
Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Richard, Verona; Robert, Memphis, Term., and William, Baldwinsville; a daughter, Mrs. Max (Dorothy) Chmura, Durhamville; a sister, Mrs. Hilda Young, Canastota; 14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
