Bennie was born May 5, 1923 in Crofton, KY to Walter and Jennette (Major) Alexander, who preceded him in death.
On Sept. 26, 1942 in Hammond, IN, he married Lillian Case, his wife of 68 years, she survives in Trail Creek. Also surviving are his daughter Lillian Mae (Joseph E.) Young of Piedmont, OK and son Bennie L. (Cynthia J.), Jr., of LaPorte; grandsons Joseph A. Young, Josh, Zack and Nathan Alexander, 12 great-grandchildren; sister Bessie Kindler an half brother and sister Albert and Carrie Alexander.
He was preceded in death by brothers Curtis, Charlie and James, and sisters Florence, Lizzie and Goldie Fay.
He was a retired union meat cutter and a freemason with the Arcadia Lodge in Lansing, IL. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Bennie was a former long time member of the West Grove Baptist Church in Crofton, KY.
