Vernon Russell Acton was born January 12, 1926 in Oak Park, Illinois, died April 18, 2007 in Hemet where he had lived for the past 16 years. He was 81 years of age.

Vern "Bud" worked as a salesman for 40 years in the home construction industry, mostly with Elgin Lumber & Supply and Hillbeans' Lumber in Illinois. Vern also proudly served our country as a cryptographer during World War II and the Korean Conflict while enlisted in the United States Air Force. Vern was also a member of the Spirit of Joy Community Church of Hemet for the past 12 years.

Vernon is survived by his loving family; wife Betty Ann of Hemet whom he married July 6, 1946 in Lombard, Illinois; children Scott Andrew Acton of Layton, Utah, Nancy Jean Fritz of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Curtis Martin Acton of Cincinnati, Ohio, Wayne Allen Acton of LaPort, Texas, Laurel Gay Pedrick of Sparks, Nevada, Jonathon Robert Acton of Burgaw, North Carolina, Jane Ann Van Huzen of Cave Creek, Arizona and Carolyn Joy Powell of San Francisco; brothers George Acton of Hemet, Raymond Acton of Big Fork, Minnesota; sister Frances Weinert of Lombard, Illinois; 18 grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother Robert Acton.
