Ray Dahlman, 88, was born March 12, 1933, in Hutchinson, Kansas, the son of Oren and Sarah (Froese) Dahlman. He lived in Newton and was employed as a Manufacturing Engineer for the Maytag Company, becoming Manager of Production Engineering before his retirement in 1989.
On January 29, 1983, Ray married Susan Dennis. After retirement they moved to Pleasant Hill, and enjoyed spending the winters in Port Aransas, Texas. Ray devoted his life to his family and had a generous heart. He loved sharing his knowledge with his grandchildren, Kody and Chloe, and taking them on many adventures.
He also enjoyed keeping an eye on the stock market each day, as well as making trips to the local library to read the Wall Street Journal and visit with his good friend, John. He had a wonderful sense of humor, which was still with him even in the last stages of dementia. He was always able to make his family laugh. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandpa, uncle and friend.
