Father of: William Oscar 'Billy' Taylor Jr.
William Oscar was also know as 'Dub'. He lived in Savannah for years and was a taxi driver. He met his wife, Aurelie Cuthbert in Savannah when they both worked at the ship yard building Liberty ships for the war. Years later he moved back to the Taylor farm in Sylvania. There they stayed for the rest of his life on the Taylor farm near Bascom community. He was a farmer and Aurelie was a registered nurse.
He only had one son, William Oscar 'Billy' Taylor Jr.
Mr. W.O. Taylor Sr., 88, of 1734 Winchester Road, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 1995, at Screven County Hospital.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Inc., with the Rev. Billy Bennett Sr. and Audley Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery.
Mr. Taylor, a native of Screven County, was a retired farmer, member of Woodmen of the World and Antioch Christian Church, where he served on the board of the church.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Dickerson, Carroll Boyd, Grady Jenkins, Andy Durrence, Jeffery Durrence and Tony Cooper.
