He received his education in the Schools of Howell County and on June 2, 1922 he was married at Salem, Arkansas to Bessie Cherry.
Mr Dye is survived by his wife, Bessie Dye, West Plains; five sons, James Dye and Elmer Dye of Kansas City; Joe Dye and David Dye of West Plains; Lee Dye, Jefferson City; two daughters, Mary N. Hopkins, Joplin, Marie Comer, Caulfield; one sister, Nellie Kackley, Valley Center, Kansas; twenty three grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three sons, four brothers, seven sisters and one great grandson.
Mr Dye had been of the Church of Christ faith for several years, his membership being in the 160 Church of Christ of West Plains, Missouri.
