Funeral services for Bill Rayburn Gentry, 51, Humansville, will be at 10am, Tuesday April 19, 1988 in the Rose Chapel of the Robertson Drago Funeral Home.
Mr Gentry died at 10:30pm Friday April 15, 1988 at the Citizens Memorial Hospital, Bolivar. He was born August 2, 1936, in Oil Trough Arkansas, the son of Marion Rayburn and Ida Mae Williams Gentry.
He graduated from West Plains High School with the Class of 1951, and in 1969 he was married at Birmingham, Missouri, to Genieve Callahan. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force.
Mr Gentry had been a resident of Humansville since 1974 where he owned and operated the G&G Auto Service and Gentry's Inc. He was a member of the Humansville Chamber of Commerce and in 1987 had served as president. He was of the Baptist faith with his membership in the First Baptist Church of Humansville for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Genieve, of the home;four children, Janet Libeer, Plattsburg, Debbie Ryun, Versailles, Rusty Gentry, Stocton and David Gentry, Humansville; six grandchildren; his Father, Marion Gentry, West Plains and one brother, Jerry Gentry and wife Virginia, West Plains.
His mother and one brother, Charles Earl, precede him in death.
Bill was on a wrecker run when he had a massive heart attack. He had the heart attack about 10:30pm on Friday the 15th, but was actually pronounced deceased on Saturday April, 16. That is why the date on the headstone is the 16th, but the obit says the 15th.
