Ruth Irene Stull Jones

Manhattan - Ruth Irene Stull Jones, 85, formerly of Partridge, peacefully passed away March 13, 2021, at Good Shepherd Homecare & Hospice, Manhattan. She was born July 1, 1935, in Partridge, to Roger Eli and Olive Grace (Black) Stull. Ruth was raised in Kansas and Maryland.

Ruth worked at a local theatre in Lyons. Ruth and her husband, Jim, moved to Partridge in 1964, where they opened the Partridge Café. Ruth owned and operated the café for 56 years, until she was 80 years old. Her specialties included homemade pies, hamburgers, fried chicken, and witty conversations. Ruth was recognized in the state of Kansas for outstanding cooking and many years of service to the community of Partridge. She was a long-time member of Maranatha Mennonite Church, South Hutchinson.

Ruth will be remembered as a loving mother, aunt, sister, grandma, and great-grandma. She also had many friends whom she loved, and enjoyed all the customers at the café. In addition, Ruth also loved playing Pitch, Yahtzee, dominoes, and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by many people; however, she lived a full life.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie "Jim" Clinton Jones. Ruth and Jim were married December 22, 1954. He died April 28, 1989, after sharing 35 years of marriage.

Ruth is survived by: her two children, son, Dr. Clinton Jones and wife Vicky of Stillwater, OK, and daughter, Janice Rogers and husband Jeff of Manhattan; granddaughters, Tagney Walters and husband Nick of Vermillion, SD, and Matley Jones, who is currently in Seattle, WA; grandsons, Dr. Adam Rogers and wife Jennifer of North Liberty, IA, Dr. Dallas Jones and wife Hannah of Aurora, CO, Matt Rogers and wife Kyla of Fort Dodge, IA, Montana Jones, and fiancé, Breanna Hagedorn of Lincoln; great-granddaughters, Lilly and Sage Creller, Ivy Rogers, all of North Liberty, Dawsyn Walters of Vermillion, SD, and Kerrigan Rogers of Fort Dodge; great-grandsons, Callum and Owen Rogers of Fort Dodge; and brother, Roger Paul Stull and wife Mary Lou of Maryland. Ruth is also survived by many nieces and nephews, who provided lots of loving humor and joy to her life

Ruth was preceded in death by: her parents, Roger and Olive Stull; sisters, Mary Stull Rippeon and husband Junior, Betty Jane Rippeon and husband Bernie; and sister-in-law, Virginia Koch and husband Oscar.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 19, 2021, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Paul Nisly officiating. Burial will follow in Partridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
