Shirley E. Westfall, 84, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at Cox South Hospital. She was born on September 14, 1936 in Pine Ridge, near Chadwick, MO, the daughter of Elmer Bilyeu, and Pearl Bilyeu (House). Shirley graduated from Chadwick High School, Class of 1954. She spent her career working at Cox North and South as a CNA for 35 years and enjoyed caring for her patients. Spending much of her time sitting with cancer patients in their greatest time of need. Shirley made a profession of faith at a young age and spent many years in the Assembly of God church. Shirley loved her family. Her favorite activity was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and siblings. She loved country music and always enjoyed seeing some of her favorite entertainers perform in Branson. Shirley always enjoyed returning to the areas where she grew up around Chadwick and Sparta and spent many summers taking her grandchildren to Swan Creek and the surrounding areas so they could experience what she did as a child. After her retirement she was able to do some traveling and visited sites in Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii & Washington, D.C. She also took a 7 day cruise, with her daughter-in-law, Mary Anne. Shirley leaves to cherish her memory three sons David Westfall (MaryAnne), Atlanta, TX, Kent Westfall (Missy), Springfield, MO and Mark Westfall (Karen), Republic, MO; four grandsons, Zach Westfall, Zane Westfall, Andy Westfall, and Zeth Westfall, and one granddaughter, Annabelle Westfall. Seven great-grandchildren, Addie, Marcus, Kaidyn, Jackson, Macy, Wyatt and Mavvy. Four brothers, Ernest Bilyeu of Sparta, Don Bilyeu of Ozark, Gary Bilyeu of Sparta, Johnny Bilyeu (Kay) of Nixa, and one sister, Cathey Idell (Clyde) of Ozark, other relatives and friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband of 54 years, Jack Westfall. Her children would like to take this opportunity to thank her siblings for their many calls, visits, and acts of love over the last few years as she was confined to a nursing home. It did not go unnoticed. *In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to Convoy of Hope in Springfield, MO to help those in need. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 before services at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
