Glen A. Hartshorn, 84, of Barberton, Ohio, died Sept. 20, 2006.

Born in Akron, Ohio, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He retired from McNeil Machine and Engineering.

He is survived by wife of 59 years, Loraine; daughters, Margaret (Jim) Bennett, Janet (Wayne) Miller and Nancy (Denny) Alkyer; son, Ken (Melissa) Hartshorn; grandchildren, Kenny (Annetta) Daugherty, Amy (Dean) Caynor, David Alkyer, Lisa Hartshorn (Shawn Erickson), Christine Miller, Lori Miller, Brian Hartshorn and Jonathan Bennett; great-grandchildren, Charlie Pochie, Brittany and Sara Balas, Steven and Jacob (Cruz) Alkyer, Tyler Lerch and Cody Erickson; three stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; special sister-in-law, Mildred Staight; sister, Blondena Sutton; and many other relatives and friends in Ohio and West Virginia.

Calling hours will be from 4-8 p.m. today at Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Akron, OH 44319. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St., Parkersburg. Burial will be at Sunset Memory Gardens, Parkersburg.
