Howard Eugene "Gene" Gwynn, 76, of Parkersburg, died October 5, 2006 at the Willows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born March 3, 1930 in Parkersburg, WV a son of the late Myron E. and Onice Archer Gwynn.

Gene retired from Elkem Corp after 35 years of service. He was a methodist by faith, former Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop 17 for many years and was committe chairman of Girl Scout Troop 24.

He is survived by hiw wife of 55 years, Helen Virginia Currey Gwynn; four children, David A Gywnn of Hurricane, WV, Ruth Ellen Bradley and husband Jerald of Parkesburg, Sue Ann Campell and husband Ray of Parkesburg, Dale E. Gwynn and wife Hilda of Elizabeth; eleven grandchildren; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Lou Gwynn, sister, Loraine Brown; brother, Glenn "Poker" Gwynn and infant brother Ray Gwynn.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Brian Harrell officiating.

Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be Friday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
