Rayford Powers Dies in Oregon
Funeral services will be held here Wednesday for Rayford Powers, a 50-year Stockton resident who 10 years ago moved to Oregon. Mr. Powers died in a Madras, Ore., hospital Thursday. Mr. Powers was a building contractor here who helped organize the Lathers Union.
He is survived by two daughters, Juanita Whiteside and Lenora Wimmer of Stockton; two sons, Joseph and Rayford Jr. of Stockton; four sisters, including Ersie Ball and Lola Roberts of Stockton; eight brothers, including Thomas of Pollock Pines, Andrew of Linden, and Coda, Burny and Emmett Powers, all of Stockton; and 14 grandchildren.
