James (Jim) Bever, a Shipping Coordinator and a long time resident of Dallas, TX, died unexpectedly on February 24, 2021 of Covid-19 in Dallas, Texas.

James is survived by his wife, Audrey Bever (Staton); daughter, Deanna Elders (Bever); grandchildren, Brittney Elders, Emma Elders, John Austin Elders; and brother, William (Bill) Bever. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Ann Hightower (Bever); and sister Kathy Ose (Bever).

James was born in Webster, Iowa on August 23, 1944 to Everett Bever and Ruth Bever (Whaley). He served in the US Navy from 1964-1968 as a Seaman 2nd Class on the USS Calvert ship. He worked as a Shipping Coordinator for over 15 years at Home Interiors and Gifts in Garland, TX. On May 15, 1979 he married Audrey and knew it was love at first sight. On September 16, 1981, he proudly welcomed his daughter Deanna, who was the most important part of his life.

James was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved antiquing, a good laugh, and spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 4pm on April 17th at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Mesquite on Clay Mathis Rd. The service will be Reverend by Dan Bower.
