Edna Mae McKelvey Arnold died Sunday, December 28, 2003 at 5:30 a.m. at the Columbus Regional Hospital at Columbus. She was born May 24, 1914 in Alert, Indiana, the daughter of John B.F. and Nancy (Singleton) Jayne.
She was a life long resident of Decatur County. She graduated from Jackson Township High School in 1934 and was a member of the Former Christian Union Church at Alert.
She first married Wilbur Dean and he preceded her in death in 1964. She then married LeRoy McKelvey May 8, 1951 in Greensburg, Indiana and he also preceded her in death on June 25, 1974.
She is survived by her daughter Alma Campbell, Westport, Indiana; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Wilbur Dean and LeRoy McKelvey; son John R Dean; 6 brothers, Morris Jayne, David Jayne, Adam Jayne, Howard Jayne, Timothy Jayne, Robert Lee Jayne; 3 sisters, Mabel Andrews, Mamie Jayne, and 1 that died in infancy.
The funeral will be Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Thorpe officiating. Visitation on Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. Burial at Bear Creek Cemetery at Alert.
