Raymond married to Florence Mariah Underwood on 16 November 1913 at Manhattan, New York. They made their home at Weehawken where her husband was employed by New York Fire Insurance Underwriters. They relocated to Bergenfield, New Jersey about 1920 where he continued his insurance career working up to fire insurance examiner. Raymond and Florence were the parents of three children; Frances Eleanor Alexander, Raymond William Alexander Jr., and Malcolm Underwood Alexander.
