Orville "Bill" Adkins, Jr., 89, a life long Rush County area resident, passed away at his home on March 9, 2021.

He was born in Fayette County on June 20, 1931 to the late Orville & Goldie (Dillow) Adkins. Bill married Nancy Huffman on February 16, 1951 and she survives.

He farmed his entire life. Bill was past president of the Mule Skinners Club and longtime member of the Coon Hunters Association. He loved to buy, sell, and trade and was a true cowboy. He loved the family, his horses, his land, and his life on the farm.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy, of Rush County, his children, Christine Jackson of FL, Billie Sue (Marion) Dalrymple of Fayette County, Tim (Glenda) Adkins of Rush County and Terry (Vicki) Adkins of Hagerstown, brothers, Ronnie Adkins of Laurel and Larry (Sharrell) Adkins of Rush County, 7 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Avanelle Stagg, Eunice Sparks, Louise Piles & Dorothy Phillips, brother; Mike Adkins and grandsons; Chip Miller & Andy Adkins.

Services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, March 13, 2021 in Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Mike Hedrick presiding.
Friends are welcome to visit the family at the mortuary from 10:30 AM until service time on Saturday.

Burial will be in the Arlington East Hill Cemetery.
