A.J. Gentry, Jr., age 94 of Lenoir City passed away March 11, 2021. AJ was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church.

He was a Navy W. W. II veteran. He was a Radio Man Gunner on the USS Audubon. His time was served in the Pacific Theater and at the Battle of Okinawa. A.J. was the last living charter member of IBEW Local Union #270. He worked at ORNL for over 30 years as an Electrical Supervisor. His hobbies were woodworking and repairing electrical equipment. A.J. loved working outdoors and was a Ham radio operator (callsign K4UPX).

Preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Edith Gentry; son, Danny Lynn Gentry; parents and 2 younger brothers. Survived by his children and spouses: Sheila Booker, Paul and Melody Gentry, and Susan and Stan Thomas; grandchildren: Trisha Allen, Christopher and Brian Booker, Andrew, Luke and John Gentry, Jack and Reagan Thomas; other grandchildren, great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 14th at Click Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Shane Maples officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 9:30 Monday morning and proceed to the Lakeview Cemetery for 10 a.m. graveside services. Military honors will be conducted by the Loudon Co. Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 1998 Friendship Road, Lenoir City, TN 37772.
