Nita will be remembered for her lovingness, kindness, generosity, humor, determination, classiness, orderliness, loyalty and fortitude. She was an integral part of her family’s success, and her playful teasing and witty remarks made her easy to get along with. She enjoyed shopping, entertaining for family and traveling, especially to the family lake house in Monticello, IN and Florida.
Nita married Glen Stockment on February 26, 1962 in Wolcott, IN. They shared 59 years together. In Glen’s words, “She was the wind beneath my wings.”
Among other positions, Nita worked at Eli Lilly in office administration for seven years. She attended Indiana Business College prior to working at Lilly. Additionally, Nita served as the first president of the prestigious Tri Kappa Sorority. God and family were her motivation.
Left to cherish Nita’s memory are her husband; one daughter; two grandsons; and one sister. Preceding Nita in death were her parents; a daughter, Lisa Stockment; and two brothers, Larry and Jerry Victor.
