Kathy started helping out in restaurants at age 12 and had several waitressing jobs at local restaurants before graduating from Southern Illinois University where she competed on the swim team. She was also a graduate of St. Raymond’s School and St. Francis Academy. Kathy worked for many years as a Combined Insurance salesperson.
She was a great help in caring for her mom in her later years. Kathy’s strength in the face of adversity will always be an inspiration. Kathy enjoyed the river life and living in 'The House that Jack built.'
Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Marianne (Sam) Governale; her beloved nephews and nieces, Brad (Krista) Walsh, Tiffany (Mike Sanders) Walsh, John (her godson) Governale and Jeff (Jen) Governale and Jayne (Don) Oldham; her adored great-nieces and great-nephews, Ryerson and Calloway Walsh, Reilly Sanders, Cathryn and Madyson Governale; her aunt, Leona Molaschi and her uncle, Frank (Mickey) Maren; several cousins also survive.
