"LAST RITES FOR W. J. LEONARD, 80, IN CHAPEL

Funeral services for William J. Leonard, a lifelong resident of the Hooppole area who died early Wednesday, Jan. 25, in Kewanee Public hospital, were Friday of last week at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Wilson Funeral Home, Annawan.

Mr. Leonard was 80 years old. He had been in the hospital six days.

Rev. Thompson of Annawan Community Methodist church officiated. Interment was in Hooppole cemetery. Visitation by friends was Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the chapel.

Mr. Leonard was a farmer. He was born July 31, 1866, the son of Jake and Louise Mathis Leonard, early settlers in the Hooppole area. He married Cora Brown.

Surviving besides the wife are a stepson, Gilbert Brown, and a stepdaughter, Mrs. James Nelson, both of rural route 2, Prophetstown. The deceased was preceded in death by his parents."
