Death of George A. Collins
Yesterday morning at 12:30 o'clock at the residence of Mr. Oscar Bauer in West Baton Rouge parish, there departed from this earthly sphere one of the oldest, well-known and esteemed citizens of that parish, George A. Collins, at the mature age of 57 years. Mr. Collins is well known throughout the greater portion of our sugar-cane region as one of the most practical and successful cane planters, a vocation he has devoted a life time to. His remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery of thsi[sic] city on yesterday evening at 3 o'clock in the presence of a large concourse of relatives and friends.
