William Thomas Groves, 80, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at home in Jefferson City.Mr. Groves was born Dec. 12, 1926, at Corning. In 1986 he retired as a machinist for McQuay Norris. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and playing games on the computer.He married Margaret Bernice Bowd on Oct. 1, 1949. She survives him.Other survivors include one son, Tim Groves of Hillsboro, Mo.; two daughters, Carolyn (Charlie) Sebold of Hills-boro and Brenda (Larry) Northway of Jefferson City; two sisters, Virginia Bentley of Hillsboro and Aline Hollis of Corning; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Groves and Audrey McCann Groves-Burnett; three brothers, Loren, Eugene and Hershel Groves; and one sister, Glenda Martin.Visitation will be from 6-8 tonight in Ermert Funeral Home at Corning.Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Richwoods Cemetery at Corning.
