Lois Isobel Grandstaff (née Morley) of Wilmington, Delaware and formerly of Morrisville, PA, peacefully passed away on March 8, 2021 at the age of 93, surrounded by her loving family.

Lois was born on May 25, 1927 in Trenton, NJ to Louis W. & Jesse (Morrison) Morley. Lois grew up in Morrisville, PA where she graduated from Morrisville High School. Lois attended & graduated from Mercer County Hospital in Trenton, NJ, earning her nursing degree. She worked at Mercer Hospital as an RN in the ER, ICU, and Maternity departments until the family moved to Wilmington, DE in 1960. She married her high school sweetheart, Richard Grandstaff, in 1948 and they enjoyed 62 years together until Richard's passing in 2010. In addition to her parents and husband, Lois is predeceased by her siblings, Jean Kotz (Bob), Louis W. Morley, Jr. (Snookie), and Bruce Morley.

Lois had an exuberance for life. With her kind heart and empathy for others, she proudly served as a cadet nurse during WWII. Lois had a fun-loving, cheerful personality. Her sense of humor was infectious and her spontaneous wit easily caught you off guard. Lois treasured annual vacations and many happy family memories were made on a beautiful lake in Ontario, Canada. She was an avid fisherman and boater, and she and Richard traveled after his retirement to Canada, within the US, and Nova Scotia: one of her favorite places.

Lois had many passions including her love of sewing in which she had immense pride, and in turn, it led to a business being run out of her home for many years. During the summer, she enjoyed gardening, especially her vegetables. You could always find Lois in the kitchen at the end of summer up to her elbows canning her tomatoes and string beans, and making her sweet pickles. When arriving at her home, the sound that usually could be heard was Lois playing her amazing organ that was a gift from her husband in lieu of a car, as she never learned to drive. One of her greatest joys was her family and holiday gatherings were always at mom-mom and pop-pop's. She adored having her grandchildren and great-grandchildren around her, as their laughter always brought her such pleasure and smiles.

Lois lived a very rich and full life and was blessed to have such a loving family and many friends. She will be remembered for her kind spirit, unwavering devotion to her family, and her heart of gold.

Lois will be dearly missed by her children, Richard G. Grandstaff, Leslie G. Hurley (James Sevier), and Scott W. Grandstaff (Dawn); her sister-in-law, Janet Morley; five grandchildren, Jamie Smith (Tom), Timothy Hurley (Ryan), Amanda Socaris (Jon-Michael), Heather Williams (Justin), and Lindsay Grandstaff (Larry Flood); and nine great-grandchildren. Lois is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their spouses.

A visitation will be held on Saturday March 13, 2021 at 10am followed by a service at 11am at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. Burial will be held privately.
