Alvin Curley, 67, Sioux City, Iowa passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021 at his home in Sioux City, Iowa.

Alvin was born on June 24, 1954 at Hastings, Nebraska to Paul Curley and Wilma Buckman. He has one sister, Roylene Buckman and one adopted Sister Vandra Buckman, Koehler.

Alvin began his peaceful spiritual journey home with his family by his side.

He attended grade school at St. Charles, South Dakota and high school at Bonesteel, South Dakota. Alvin also spent two years at Springfield College, pursuing a degree in Auto Mechanic. He loved to work on vehicles, help his friends and relatives, and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Alvin grew up in the community of Milks’s Camp and had many, many good friends. He loved everyone and never had a negative word to say about anyone. He took part in many community events, enjoyed the ballgames, dances, powwows and family holiday gatherings. Alvin was a Green Bay Packers Fan. With his good sense of humor, he always had everyone laughing.

In the 80’s Alvin relocated to Sioux City, Iowa to find better permanent employment. He worked for the Clover Leaf Cold Storage for twenty years. Alvin retired from that position due to health-related issues.

For many years, he helped his cousin Vandra raise her three daughters, which he totally spoiled. He would drive them to school events and activities in Sioux land Area.

Every time a carnival came to town, he would take the girls and was a very good role model. When these three young ladies became parents themselves over years, he spoiled their children. His strongest love was for baby Bryce and his little brother Wyatt. These two little boys loved their grandpa Alvin, as he took care of them daily and would feed and hold them until they fell asleep. When ill he was there to guide them back to health. He will definitely, always remain in these two little boys’ lives, forever and ever.

Alvin was a good family man, he enjoyed the holidays, our Labor Day gatherings, with food, fun and laughs. He enjoyed buying the grandchildren, gifts for every occasion.

Alvin is preceded in death by his two parents, his Grandpa Charlie Buckman, Sr., and Grandma Elizabeth. He leaves behind his nieces, nephews, friends and families.

Alvin, will definitely be missed by his family and grandchildren, who he held dear to his ‘heart.’
