Leta was born December 30, 1934 in Pueblo, Colorado to Dan and Ovie (Lasater) Garrett.
She attended grade school in Pueblo and Loveland, Colorado and graduated with the class of 1953 in Loveland, Colorado.
On October 12, 1958, Leta was united in marriage to Richard (Dick) Lindauer at Denver, Colorado. The couple resided at Ogallala two years before moving to the family farm in 1960.
Leta was the mother of three children: David (deceased), Janean, and Dana.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she served on several boards. Leta was a member of the Ogallala Chapter Order of the Eastern Star 142 and was a Past Bethel Guardian of Job's Daughters Bethel 21.
Leta served several years on the Keith County Election Board and served several years as a volunteer for the Keith County Blood Mobile. She served on the Sunnyslope District #14 School Board and was a 4-H leader.
She became a collector of nutcrackers and had a collection of over 200 nutcrackers.
Leta is survived by; 1 daughter, Janean Lindauer, of Brule; 1 son, Dana Lindauer, of Englewood, CO; sister-in-law, Marilyn Goltl, of Evergreen, CO; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Lindauer; her son, David Leland Lindauer; her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Mae and Charlie Barker; her brother-in-law, Walt Goltl; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donald and Jo Lindauer; and many other relatives.
A visitation will be held, Friday, March 12, 2021 from 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. in the Draucker Funeral Home Chapel with family greeting friends from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in Ogallala, Nebraska with Rev. Chuck Rager officiating. The service will include Eastern Star Rites rendered by the Ogallala Eastern Star Chapter 142.
Interment will be held in the Ogallala Cemetery in Ogallala, Nebraska.
