Louis was in the Civil War, Illinois 117th Infantry, Company H, Union Soldier's & was a Private throughout the War effort. He was born & immigrated from Helmsdorf, Thuringia otherwise at that time known as Prussia. He came here on the ship Eberhard, through the Port of New Orleans in 1852 straight to this area. He married Theresia Wenzel & had 10 children. He died of Pneumonia that he'd had for 11 days.
