Howard Summers, 63, superintendent of the Manteca sewage disposal plant, and Stafford Rodgers, 35, a city parks maintenance man and custodian, were killed yesterday morning when a city-owned pickup truck was struck by a Western Pacific diesel freight train on McKinley Avenue, two miles west of Manteca, as they were returning from a routine inspection of the new sewage disposal farm.
