JOSEFINA (ALVARADO) WOODS, 66, died in Moosic on December 13, 2009. Born March 19, 1943, in Guadalajara, Mexico, she was a resident of San Diego, California. Ms. Woods was the first guest on September 1, 1984, at the Catherine McAuley House, Scranton, which, with the Catherine McAuley House in Plymouth, is a residence for women and children in need of temporary housing. They are both operated by the Sisters of Mercy. She will be buried Monday at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. A Memorial Liturgy for her will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on April 24, 2011, at Blessed Sacrament Chapel, Mercy Center, Dallas. Arrangements are by E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre.
