Nellie Jane Mantle of Joplin, MO passed from this life Monday, March 1, 2021 at Galena Nursing Center in Galena, KS. She was 85.
Nellie was born August 6, 1935 in Aurora, MO to Dudley Dean and Margueritte (Kittrell) Stratton. She was a 1953 graduate of Picher High School. She had lived in Joplin since 1999 moving there from Tuscaloosa, AL. Prior to living in Tuscaloosa she had lived in Miami, OK until 1986.
Nellie had worked as a dental assistant and worked in customer service at Lowe's in Tuscaloosa and K-Mart in Bartlesville, OK. She later worked in human resources for the Eagle-Picher Boron Plant in Quapaw, OK. She was a member of First Christian Church in Miami.
Nellie was preceded in death by a daughter, Kim Dian Reed, a great granddaughter, Ariel Cornelius, her parents and 2 brothers, Jay Stratton and Dudley Stratton.
Nellie is survived by her husband, Maxi Mantle of the home, 2 sons, Max Mantle and his wife Janie of Loma Linda, MO and Mark Mantle of Branson, MO, 2 daughters, Kathy Mantle of Joplin, MO and Jan Mantle and her husband Don Geramoni of Novato, CA, 1 sister, Juanita Williams of Norman, OK, 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
