Eddy A. Newman, 73, of Roanoke, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Lewis Gale Medical Center.

He was born on March 6, 1947, in Roanoke, to the late Gilbert Eugene and Hazel Frances King Newman.

In addition to his parents, Eddy was preceded in death by his late wife, Barbara Jean Newman; and two sisters, Frances and Jenne Newman.

Eddy proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

Left to cherish his memories are his dearest and best friend, Deborah M. Castillo; and his son, Charles (Jack) Newman.

In keeping of Eddy's wishes, all services at Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery will be private. Special thanks to Robert Bardwell and the staff at Intrepid Hospice, as well as the caring staff at the Virginia Veterans Care Center. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to your local Lions Club in Eddy's memory.
