Lonnie Allen Camburn, 68, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Borgess Medical Center. He was born on March 1, 1948, the son of Lester Albert Parker and Lois Darlene (Camburn) Sutherland.
Lonnie graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1966. After high school he joined the U.S. Army and faithfully served during Vietnam. He returned home and worked for United Steel & Wire and Denso Manufacturing as a supervisor. He was a member of the American Legion Post 298.
Lonnie is survived by his daughter, Tonia (Michael) England; grandchildren, Zachary Camburn, Alyx, Michael, and Taylor England; brother, Jerry (Virginia) Sutherland; sisters, Sheri Badger, Sheila (Frank) Walker, Trudy (Jack) Gwilt; special friend, Karen Waychoff. He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Parker, mother, Lois (Roy) Sutherland, wife, Darlene (Lake) Camburn, sister, Linda Pike, and brother, Larry Sutherland.
Lonnie loved to travel, and gamble...in his younger years, he enjoyed bowling on the league, snowmobiling, playing pool, fishing on his boat, and working with his hands. Lonnie always had a project to work on. Above everything he adored his family, and doted on his grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at 1:00 pm.
Interment will take place in Hicks Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to: Youth Bowling for his youngest granddaughter C/O Tonia England.
