Elmer “Jack” Doll, 84 of Centerville, passed away on February 24, 2021 at MercyOne in Des Moines, Iowa.

Jack was born to Elmer Lincoln and Clarissia (Hopkins) Doll on November 16, 1936 in Unionville, Iowa. He attended Centerville High School. Jack was known for being a “people person” and never met a stranger. He told the best jokes and could draw a laugh out of anyone. Jack enjoyed working on the farm and watching football games. He made sure to never miss dinnertime as he loved eating and visiting with his friends and family around the table.

Jack is survived by his children Krishna Carlyle (Kenny) and Justin Doll (Nichole), grandchildren Kathryn and Kyra Carlyle and Kelsie Taylor, sisters Nancy Cox, Patty Powell and Betty Barker as well as numerous extended family and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Irene Welch, Mary Adamson, Jenny Brown and Sharon Henshaw, brothers Jim Doll and Russell Doll and a nephew Gary Biles.

Funeral service for Jack will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville. Visitation without family present will be Monday, March 1 from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM followed by visitation with family present from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service and interment at Mt. Ararat Cemetery will take place a later date. Memorials may be given to the family to be designated at a later date and condolences may be shared at www.thomasfh.com or www.facebook.com/thomasfuneralhome.
