J. JEWELL'S OBITUARY
J. Jewell Sizemore passed peacefully on to her eternal life August 18, 2023 (aged 77 years) at Good Samaritan Hospital with family at her side.

Jewell was the first born daughter to Alvie and Delores Flinders on November 12, 1945 in Floyd County Kentucky. The family moved to South Lebanon, where Jewell attended South Lebanon elementary, and Kings High School where she graduated as the Salutorian of 1964.

On July 11, 1964 Jewell married her high school sweetheart Bob Sizemore and three years later their daughter, Janet was born. Jewell began work at the Kings Local School in the cafeteria. She worked her way up, eventually becoming the Foodservice Director for the entire district and it's seven kitchens.

In 1975 they bought a parcel of land Bob had his eye on in Union Township. There they built their dream house and welcomed their son John.

Bob and Jewell led a life full of the things they loved. Bob grew bountiful gardens and they canned, and froze all kinds of food that they ate throughout the years. They were avid square dancers, and enjoyed traveling state to state on their Goldwing motorcycle. Jewell loved riding so much she got her license and had her own motorcycle.

One other thing they loved was boating and water skiing. They were charter members of the Flotilla Boat Club and spent 51 years enjoying their spot on Straight Creek.

Jewell was an avid sports fan. She loved the Reds, especially the Big Red Machine... but by far she was UC Bearcats fan. She loves Bearcat basketball!

Jewell believed Jesus Christ to be her savior, and faithfully served at First Baptist church for 38 years.

Preceded in death by her parents, and loving husband Bob. She will be remembered by her brothers Don (Sylvia) Flinders, and Tooter (Lue) Flinders, sister Flo Flinders, sister in law Brenda (Dorman) Rice, daughter Janet (Michael) Branch, son John Sizemore, granddaughter, Haleigh (Zachary) Fair, Jackson Sizemore, Clayton Gebhardt, and great grandson Holden Fair, and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 1 PM at the First Baptist Church in South Lebanon. Visitation will be held from 11 AM until time of service. Reverend Jeremiah Camaratta will officiate. Interment will follow in Deerfield Cemetery. Arrangements by the Vale Hoskins Funeral Home in Morrow.
