He was born May 11, 1917 in Logan, a son of Anthon Edward and Inez Elnora Egbert Anderson. He was reared and educated in Logan. He graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Business Administration and was a member of Sigma Chi.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. On March 18, 1994, he married Roberta Jean Mathison in Forest Grove, Oregon. He began working at the age of six for Anderson Lumber Company, retiring in 1981 as vice-president. He served as a director and president of Mountain States Lumber Dealers, and Director of the National Assoc. of Lumber Dealers. He served on a number of national lumber boards and had worked with numerous charities. He also served as president of the Bertha Eccles Community Art Center. Mr. Anderson was a member of the LDS Church, the Ogden Golf and Country Club, and the Exchange Club. His first priority was always his family,. Other interests included the Company, travel, reading and music.
Survived by his wife of Ogden; two sons, Richard B. Anderson (Lindalee), Fairport, N.Y.; Robert James anderson (Linda), Ashland, Oregon; two daughters, Maren Everton, Fruit Heights; Rosemary Buehler (Jay K.), Littleton, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; one brother, Richard Anderson, Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two half sisters.
His family will greet friends at Leavitt's Chapel of Flowers Mortuary, 836-34th Street, Ogden, Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. Private memorial services will be held.
