Etna Eva Rue Goode, 95, of Cross Plains, Texas passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2020 in Brownwood, Texas.
Funeral service will be held Monday, July 27, at 10:00 AM at the Church of Christ in Cross Plain, Texas with Charles Chesshir officiating.
The family will have a time of visitation on Sunday, July 26 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Higginbotham Funeral Home in Cross Plains, Texas. Online condolences for the family are welcome at https://www.higginbothamfuneralhomecrossplains.com
Etna was born April 12, 1925 in Winnsboro, Texas to the Late Marvin Zimmerman and Margaritt Pruit-Zimmerman. Etna was baptized into the Lord at an early age. They moved around a lot. They made numerous trips to West Texas to work and pull cotton. She made a hand pulling cotton at 8 years old. She met De Verl Goode while pulling cotton for her soon to be father-in-law. She married De Verl Goode on December 5, 1942.
Etna was a farmer and rancher’s wife. She loved the Lord and his creation. Etna and De Verl moved from Welch, Texas to Cross Plains, Texas in 1969. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She had many friends and loved ones left behind at Welch when they moved to Cross Plains and then made many more friends.
Etna was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, De Verl Goode; 3 brothers, 4 sisters and 1 grandson.
