Allie "Al" Oredas DePriest passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 88. He was born on Saturday, October 15, 1932 in Natalbany, Louisiana to the late Virginia Albin DePriest and the late Dewey DePriest. He was a resident of Hammond, Louisiana. Al was an electrician by trade and spent his retirement years working in his fishing shop, called Rod’n & Reel’n.

Al is survived by four daughters and a daughter-in-law. Sherrie Jacobsen and husband Rickie Fred of Clarkston, MI, Kimberly DePriest, Tamara DePriest, Staci Culbertson and husband Robert all of Hammond, La, Tracey DePriest of Albany, La.

Al was affectionately known as "Paw" to his 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, James Floyd DePriest (Barbara), Betty Wilder, and Vera DePriest.

Al was preceded in death by Betty DePriest, his loving wife of 64 years with whom he raised 5 children; his beloved son, Larry DePriest; his parents, Virginia and Dewey DePriest; and his siblings, Phillip DePriest, Caroline Kinchen, and Wallace DePriest.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Sunday, January 31, 2021 beginning at 1:00 PM until the funeral service begins at 3:00 pm.

Interment will follow in New Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, Hammond, Louisiana.

Face masks are now mandatory to attend any visitation or service at the funeral home. Thank you for your cooperation.
