Maida Chantal Brooks was born June 9, 1968 in Georgetown, TX to Ella Mae Hill (Miller) and Lester Lee Hill Sr.

She departed this life on February 18, 2021 at 7:44 pm at St. David’s North Austin Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones.

She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life Chris Brooks, on February 18, 1989. To this blessed union three beautiful daughters were born, Desirea, Kierstyn and Krishea (Shaye).

Maida accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. Everyone who knew her, knows that her faith was very important to her. It was her foundation for life, and the source of her joy and strength. The love of Christ and His Spirit shone through Maida in everything she did. She was an active member of Church of the Harvest in Round Rock, TX.

Under the leadership of Pastors Frederick and Stephanie Timmons, she grew and matured in her spiritual walk. Maida faithfully served on multiple auxiliaries with various volunteer leadership positions, including the Food Pantry, Unseen Hands, and Women’s Ministry. At COTH, she was honored to graduate the Sonship School of the Firstborn in December of 2015.

Worship through gospel music was a great love for Maida and a huge way that God ministered to her through her battle with cancer. She often shared how God gave her specific songs for each phase of her journey.

Maida was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to all who knew her. She was pleased to serve in all those roles, but her greatest joy was being a mother. She did anything and everything she could to help her daughters succeed. Maida was proud to see all her daughters graduate college. She was their biggest cheerleader, supporting them in everything they wanted to do from gymnastics, cheer, making and selling t-shirts, and even helping Shaye start her own business.

Her other greatest joy was being a grandmother to Tiana. Maida and Tiana were inseparable and spent a vast amount of time together. Her home was T’s home!

Maida was preceded in death by her mother, father and her nephew, Jeffrey Jordan Hill.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Chris Brooks, daughters Desirea, Kierstyn (Bruce) and Krishea Brooks, granddaughter Tiana Harris, sister Melissa Hill, brothers Leland Hill Sr. (Hattie), Lester Hill Jr. (Jeanene), Oscar Hill, brother and sister-in-law Fred and Stephanie Timmons and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
