Joyce Eleanor Sanders, 97, a resident of Harrison, formerly of Alpena, died Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at Hillcrest Home.

She was born October 9, 1923, at Batavia to Samuel Hugh and Viva Roseltha Davis Graves. She attended Draughon Business College in Springfield, Missouri and has played piano for most of her life, playing for Gospel groups, for church and the last several years for the residents at Hillcrest Home. She was a member of the Alpena United Methodist Church and enjoyed helping her husband on the farm raising cattle and taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Isaac Milo Sanders; a son, Sandy Sanders; and four brothers, John M., Samuel Hugh Jr., Bobby Jack and Homer Lee Graves.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gill and Terri Sanders of Flippin; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Ronald Williams of Goodlettsville, Tennessee; seven granddaughters, Cindy Richardson and Carmen Smith, both of North Little Rock, Sarah Wasemiller and Cassie Dodson, both of Fayetteville, Tiffany Braswell of Alpena and Leah and Mary Williams, both of Goodlettsville, Tennessee; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Belle Hill of Berryville; a daughter-in-law, Gale Sanders of North Little Rock; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Graves of Osage.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 26, 2021, at Alpena Cemetery at Alpena under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel of Harrison. The family request that social distancing guidelines be followed and masks be worn.

The visitation room will be open on Thursday, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
