Those that knew Charles knew he defied the odds with his recent health struggles and always looked forward to his next project in life. He had one of the strongest work ethics around, working on project after project never seeming to run out of ideas. In fact, the night before he passed away he was designing and planning his next project at the lake. Everyone also knows that when he wasn’t tinkering with something he was telling a joke or a story.
He was part of a very special group of life-long friends from the Southeast Kansas area that is known as the “Pumpkin Creekers”. This group has remained very close friends through the years and recently began assisting with the support and upkeep of the local Mound Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Memory of the “Pumpkin Creekers” to the Mound Valley Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 61, Mound Valley, KS 67354.
A Graveside Service will be held on May 29, 2021 at 2 PM at the Mound Valley, Kansas Cemetery.
