On January 19, 1893 she married Thomas Isaac Woodard in Groesbeck, Texas, with Elder David Joseph Smith officiating.
Mae and Tom settled in Leon County, and nine children were born to this union. Widowed in 1915, at the young age of 37, she raised her children on her own, and never remarried. She was fiercely independent, and was one of the strongest women I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She would be proud to know, that the values she instilled in her children, have been passed down to the generations who have followed. She is greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
