Bernice Jaschek, 68, of Fairbanks, Alaska, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, 1989 in Fairbanks.
She was formerly a Rockton resident. She was born Sept. 1, 1920 to Oscar and Mary Zimmerman Funk. She married Marvin Jaschek Jan. 30, 1942; he died April 9, 1964.
She had worked for the Manley Sand Co. in Rockton, Goldie Floberg Home and was currently working at the Native Clinic in Fairbanks. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Rockton.
She is survived by two sons, Larry (Nancy) Jaschek, James Jaschek, both of Fairbanks, Alaska; 10 grandchildren; four sisters, Cora Gray of Rockton, Elta (Sid) Schultz of Fort Collins, Colo., Priscilla (Hugh) Zierfuss of Beloit, Leona (William) Huebner of Beloit; five brothers, Walter (Shirley) Funk, Robert (Hanna) Funk, Don (Mae) Funk, all of Phoenix, Ariz., Marvin (Joanne) Funk, Leonard (Rae) Funk, both of Orfordville; also a cousin who was raised by her parents, Donny Zimmerman of Flagstaff, Ariz.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband Marvin, one son David and four brothers.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday in the Rosman, Uehling, Kinzer Blackhawk Chapel with the Rev. Herb Priester of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Rockton Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral services. A memorial has been established.
