Following the death of her father in 1897 the family moved to Perkins County, Nebraska, where they made their home with her Mother's brother.
In 1912 the family moved to Aurora. After graduation from High School in 1914, she taught in several area schools.
On February 6, 1918 she was united in marriage to Carl Oswald. This union was blessed with two sons, Max and Robert. They farmed Southwest of Aurora until 1945, when they moved into town.
Mrs. Oswald was a charter member of the United Brethren Church in Aurora, now the United Methodist Church. She and her husband were faithful member of the congregation and she was active in the Women's activities of the Church.
She was preceded in death by one son, Robert, who died in the service of his country on June 12, 1945; her parents; one brother, Ralph Adams, and six sisters, Mrs. Ella Spencer; Mrs. Elsie Schertz; Mrs. Myrtle Hanson; Mrs. Cecil Severns, Mrs. Vesta Oswald and Mrs. Ruth Fye.
Her survivors, who remain to cherish her memory, include her husband, Carl; one son, max and his wife, Jeane of Lincoln; a half sister, Mrs. Virginia Phillips of Visalia, California; three granddaughters, and their husbands; and five great granddaughters; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.
