"While Mr and Mrs Hiram Gibson of near Hubbard were away from home on Saturday last, Luther, their eldest son, a boy of 14 years, hitched a horse to the buggy with the view of taking a drive with the other four children. The horse took fright and ran away to the field, throwing all of the occupants out. All escaped injury except Luther. A postal card received Tuesday morning of this week by T C Gibson, an uncle of the boy, states that he had not spoken a word since receiving the injury, and was still unconscious. There is little or no hope for his recovery."
