Brenda Joy Drier of San Diego, CA, formerly St. Clair and Sullivan, Mo was born on Dec. 13,1952, at St. Clair, Mo., daughter of Mary Mesey nee Cantrell and the late Roscoe J. Mesey, Sr. She was blessed to have one daughter during her lifetime. Brenda departed this life in San Diego, CA. on April 1, 1993, having reached the age of forty years, three months and eighteen days.
She is survived by one daughter, Tara Drier of Sullivan, Mo.; her parents, Mary Simpson and husband Jim of Salem Mo, by seven brothers, Charles Mesey and wife Sue of Union, Jack Mesey and wife Betty of St. Louis, Rosecoe "Rocky" J. Mesey Jr. and wife Sheila of St. Clair, Everett Mesey and wife Shelly of Robertsville and Michael Mesey of Union, Daniel Mesey and wife Pam of Sullivan and Barry Mesey and wife Mary of Union.; by five sisters, Carol Sue Pritchard and husband John of Farmers Branch, Texas, Mary Ann Andresen and husband Andy of Fremont, CA, Dorothy Saling and husband Chris of Lonedell, Taffy Messex of St. Clair and Kimberly Luzynski and husband Dennis of Salem, Mo.; by her former husband John Drier of Sullivan; by special friends, Debbie, Joe and J.R. of San Diego, CA; by brothers and sisters-in-law, by many aunts, uncles, great aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her father, Roscoe J. Mesey Sr, she was preceded in death by one sister, Janice Mesey McCance Hartzell.
Brenda was of the Penecostal Faith, having been baptized in 1977. She was also a member and recent graduate of the "House of Metamorphosis" organization in San Diego, as well a member of a weekly bible study group. Her most recent employment was as a clerk for the AM-PM Convenience Store. Brenda had many hobbies and interests but especially enjoyed outdoor activites, such as fishing and spending time on the river. She was an avid reader and quiter times were spent enjoying a good book. An outgoing person, she made friend easily and deeply touched the lives of many of her friends. All of her precious family meant a great deal to her and the love and wonderful times they have all shared, will be treasured memories for them all.
A kind and loving mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, niece, great niece, aunt, great-aunt, former wife, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, April 5, 1993 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, Mo. with Rev. Jimmie Jordan officiating. Interment was in Midlawn Memorial Gardens, Union, Mo. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Assocaition
