Cliffa Jean Good Vaughn, 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 16th, 2021 at her home in Gorman Texas. She was born at home in Old Glory, Texas on February 9th, 1935 to Clifton Good and Mildred Carr Good. She graduated from Anson HS and attended MD Anderson where she trained as a Histology technician. She married Leo Peyton (Bill) Vaughn on February 10th, 1956.
She was kind to everyone and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, whether it was a meal, a loan, or a place to sojourn for a while. Cliffa, Bill and the kids moved to Gorman in 1973 and loved being a part of the Gorman community. They started a church downtown called Barjonah. Cliffa loved the Lord and loved being a pastor's wife and loved the Word of God. Cliffa was hired as the Lab Manager for Clinical Pathology in Abilene and she worked there until she retired at age 69. She and Bill opened the Shinoak Opera House and TimeKeepers Clock Shop. She later became the EDC Director for the city of Gorman after Bill passed in 2004 and was also on the City Council and Gorman ISD School Board until she stepped down at age 79.
She is survived by 3 daughters- Vicki Doyle and husband Troy of Ranger; Dianne Snider and husband Danny of Gorman; and Molly Gaines of Graham.
1 son Peyton Vaughn and wife Nana of Glen Rose.

Just some reflections on my mama. She was an incredible woman in so many ways. Cliffa was strong. She was intelligent. She was fearless. She was a force. She worked in a hospital all of her life. She was a very accomplished seamstress. She walked around our yard with a loaded gun to keep intruders away. We never had to go to daycare because she always provided us with wonderful sitters that came into our home. My father adored her and said she reminded him of Audrey Hepburn. She loved Hispanic families and taught English to many. She was an advocate for so many people. The main thing about Cliffa was that she loved the Lord and taught us to do the same. I’m excited that she has arrived in Heaven and she’s still doing the works of the Lord. I love you, Mom. All is well.
