Virginia B. Swift, age 98, of Horseheads. She was born in Elmira, NY on February 4th 1923, the daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Livermore) Conklin and passed away on February 13th 2021. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters and brothers, and in-laws, Rebecca (Alan) Carrier, Rachel (Howard “Pat”) Clark, and Marshall “Buster” (Bernice) Conklin; former husbands Albert Barnes, and Charles “Bud” Swift. She is survived by her daughter Janice (Floyd) Bennett; granddaughter Barbara (Robert) Sturm; grandson Stacey (Karen Sinsabaugh) Bennett; brother David (Eunice, deceased) Conklin; along with several nieces and nephews. Virginia loved and owned cats. She was an 83-year member of the Veteran Grange #1109 (Local, Pomona, State, and National), 4-H, and a former of member of the Elmira Country Club. She and Bud enjoyed their boats and friends at Barrett’s Marina; they were also lifetime members of Watkins Glen Yacht Club, with Bud having served as Commodore.
