Born March 12, 1886, at Kensington Kan., he spent his childhood there. He married Mina e. Peterson on Dec. 25, 1906 in Ruleton,Kan. She survives.
Mr. Allen had homesteaded at Burlington, Colo., in 1906 and lived there until coming to Clifton in 1939.
He was a member oth the Clifton Assembly of God Church and was active in church work. He also enjoyed fishing.
Additional survivors include tow daughters, Mrs. Wille (Ruth) Hansen of Hurricane, Utah and Mrs. Alma Faye Brown of Mountain View,Calif.;four sons, Walter Allen of Placerville, Calif.,Arnold Allen of Grand Junction, Ora Allen of Loma and Wayne Allen of Lehi,Utah;20 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Samuel Joseph Allen,87, of 260 2nd St.,Clifton; will be held Friday at 4 P>M> in the Clifton Assembly of God Church with Rev. Simon J. Peter and Rev. Peter Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Martin's Mortuary.
