Death claimed one of Tarentum's best known residents shortly after 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon when Mrs. Alma B. Marvin, wife of A.N. Marvin, local insurance and realty broker, and a sister of the late George W. Smith, passed away in the family home, 509 East Ninth avenue, just nine days after the death of her brother.

Mrs. Marvin had been a resident of Tarentum for many years and was a devout member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was active in all departments of the church and a faithful attender.

Mrs. Marvin was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph S. Smith. She was born on a farm in Clinton township, Butler county and was one of 13 children, four of whom did in their childhood.

Mrs. Marvin was taken ill about two weeks ago but her condition did not become serious until several days ago. She was not told of the death of her brother, George W. Smith, who passed away on Jan. 4.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Marvin leaves two daughters, Miss Ruth Marvin, at home, and Mrs. Helen Marvin Schwartz, wife of William F. Schwartz; two sons, Welling S. Marvin, at home, and Frank C., of Edgewood; one sister, Mrs. Sadie A. Wood, of Tarentum, and one brother, Frank A. Smith, of Eustis, Fla. Mrs. Marvin also leaves three grandchildren.

Funeral services are to be held in the family home Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of her pastor, the Rev. George E. Davies, D.D., and Rev. A.F. Walker, a former pastor of First Church.

Interment will take place in Prospect cemetery.
