She was born Feb. 25, 1929, to Ernst G. and Minnie (Sewing) Benz at Stony Hill.

She was united in marriage to Raymond Kurrelmeyer Dec. 9, 1949, in Hardy, Ark.

Helen was a member of St. James United Church of Christ in Charlotte where she belonged to the Women's Fellowship and a member of American Legion Aux., Post 587. She enjoyed embroidery work, cooking, baking and making Christmas stockings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernst and Minnie Benz; husband, Raymond Kurrelmeyer; son, Dennis Kurrelmeyer; granddaughter, Amber Kottwitz; brothers, Ralph, Paul, Fred, Edgar and Marvin Benz and two in infancy; and sisters, Dorothy Gumper, Frieda Faber, Elsie Hahne, Hilda Brown, Florence Ham and two in infancy.

She is survived by children, Debra Kottwitz and husband Kenneth of Owensville, Dale Kurrelmeyer and wife Lynn of Rosebud and Doug Kurrelmeyer of Rosebud; daughter-in-law, Brenda Kurrelmeyer of Owensville; grandchildren, Stacy Watson and husband Mike of New Bloomfield, Terri Adams and husband Brett of Peru, Neb., Kurt Kottwitz and wife Erin of Bay, Dustin Kurrelmeyer of Rosebud, Tyler Kurrelmeyer and wife Liz of Rosebud, Destry Cochran and wife Becca of Hillsboro; Dalton Cochran of Cedar Hill and Marissa Burstert and husband Erik of Columbia; and great-grandchildren, Cutler and Kizen Adams, Alyvia Kurrelmeyer, Korbyn and Eben Kottwitz, Tucker Kurrelemeyer and Leisel Burstert.

Visitation will be on Thursday, Feb. 18 from 4-8 p.m. at Gottenstroeter Chapel in Owensville.

Funeral services will be on Friday, Feb. 19 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James United Church of Christ in Charlotte with Rev. Van Lahmeyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorial requested to St. James United Church of Christ.
